PRESCRIPTION & INSURANCE
For treatment covered by your health or accident insurance, you will need a valid prescription from your doctor. You are also welcome to book physiotherapy appointments privately without a prescription.
Yes. Private physiotherapy appointments are available without a doctor's prescription. Please contact us for pricing and availability.
Yes. Physiotherapy prescribed by a doctor is generally covered by Swiss basic health insurance (KVG) as well as accident insurance, subject to the usual deductible and co-payment conditions.
A physiotherapy prescription is valid for 3 months from the date it is issued. We recommend booking your first appointment within 5 weeks to ensure treatment can start without delay.
A standard physiotherapy prescription covers 9 treatment sessions. If your goals are reached earlier, treatment may be completed before all sessions are used.
Swiss health insurance typically covers up to four consecutive physiotherapy prescriptions. From the fifth prescription onward, your insurer may require a medical report from your doctor to approve continued treatment.
YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT
Your first appointment focuses on understanding your condition and goals. We review your prescription, relevant medical history and ensure that all registration and health forms have been completed. Your therapist will then assess your movement and symptoms, identify the underlying cause of your problem and create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
The questionnaire is an important part of your medical history and assessment. It helps us better understand your symptoms, identify relevant health factors and prepare for your first appointment. Completing it in advance allows us to spend more time focusing on you and your treatment goals.
Our physiotherapy follows a structured approach:
1. AssessmentWe identify the cause of your symptoms, assess your movement and define clear treatment goals.
2. Treatment & Rehabilitation
You receive an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
3. Progress Tracking
We regularly reassess your progress and adjust treatment when needed.
4. Results & Next Steps
Once your goals have been achieved, we help you maintain your progress and return confidently to everyday life, work or sport.
A physiotherapy session typically lasts 20–25 minutes, depending on your treatment plan and individual needs.
Treatment frequency depends on your condition and goals. For acute injuries, post- operative rehabilitation or significant pain, we generally recommend two sessions per week to achieve the best results. Following your initial assessment, your therapist will create an individualized treatment plan and recommend the most effective schedule for your recovery.
Consistent treatment leads to better results. For most acute injuries and rehabilitation programs, we recommend two appointments per week, especially during the early stages of recovery. This helps reduce pain, restore function and achieve progress more efficiently.
Whenever possible, you will be treated by the same therapist throughout your rehabilitation. If necessary, another team member may assist to ensure continuity of care and uninterrupted progress.
In many cases, yes. Home exercises are an important part of rehabilitation and can significantly improve recovery outcomes. Your therapist will provide exercises that are practical, effective and tailored to your situation.
It is not unusual to experience temporary soreness, muscle fatigue or mild symptom changes after treatment. Your body is adapting to new movements and therapeutic input. This is usually a normal part of the recovery process and not a setback. If you are unsure about your symptoms, please contact your therapist.
APPOINTMENTS & PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Please bring your physiotherapy prescription (if applicable), any relevant medical documents such as X-rays, MRI reports, surgery reports or specialist letters.
Comfortable clothing that allows free movement is ideal. Depending on the area being treated, your therapist may ask you to wear shorts or a sleeveless top. If your treatment includes exercise therapy or training, please bring clean indoor shoes.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask you to let us know as early as possible.
For the best treatment results, we recommend prioritizing your rehabilitation and keeping your scheduled appointments whenever possible. Consistency is an important part of the recovery process and helps you achieve your goals more efficiently.
As appointment schedules can be in high demand, especially during busy periods, alternative appointments may not always be available at short notice. Early notice helps us support both your treatment plan and other patients waiting for care.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notification may be charged privately.
Absolutely. A good therapist-patient relationship is important for successful treatment. If you would prefer to continue with another therapist, we will be happy to assist you.
